Bhubaneswar: With a cyclonic circulation lying over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of north Odisha-West Bengal coasts between 3.1 and 4.5 km above mean sea level, no large change in the Minimum (night) temperature will be there in Odisha districts during the next four to five days, India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre in Bhubaneswar forecasted today.
In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD mentioned, “The Cyclonic Circulation over south Thailand and adjoining South Andaman Sea and neighbourhood persists and extends up to 5.8 km above mean sea level. Under its influence, a Low Pressure Area is likely to form over South Andaman Sea and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal around 27th November, 2023. It is likely to move westnorthwestwards and intensify into a Depression over Southeast Bay of Bengal around 29th November, 2023.”
Minimum temperatures observed marked fall at one or two places over the districts of North Interior Odisha, appreciable fall at one or two places over the districts of South Interior Odisha, and no large change elsewhere over the districts of Odisha. They were appreciably above normal at a few places over the districts of Interior Odisha, above normal at one or two places, and normal at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha.
The highest maximum temperature of 32.2°C was recorded at Paralakhemundi and the lowest minimum temperature of 12.4°C was recorded at Keonjhargarh in the plains of Odisha.
