Odisha Cabinet approves Mission Shakti Scooter Yojana

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will provide interest-free loans up to Rs 1 lakh to Mission Shakti federation leaders and Community Support Staff (CSS) to buy scooters for better mobility.

The state Cabinet headed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today approved a proposal in this regard.

“The Odisha Cabinet today gave its nod to Mission Shakti Scooter Yojana. Under this scheme, eligible individuals will benefit from full interest subvention on bank loans up to Rs 1 lakh to purchase a scooter of their choice,” said Chief Secretary PK Jena.

Around 75,000 Community Support Staff (CSS) comprising Community Resource Person, Master Book Keeper, Prani Mitra, Krushi Mitra, Bank Mitra, Livelihood Support Person, Udyag Mitra, Business Development Service Provider and Business Correspondent Agent will be benefitted under the scheme.

Similarly, as many as 1,25,000 Mission Shakti federation leaders including executive members and office-bearers of panchayat and ward level federation, block level federation, city level federation and district level federation will also get benefits under the initiative, said Jena.

The state government has planned to spend Rs 528. 55 crore on the scheme in the next five years, he added.
