Odisha min’s daughter-in-law draws salary without attending office for 2 years!

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Steel & Mines Minister Prafulla Kumar Mallik has landed in the middle of a controversy surrounding his daughter-in-law over her alleged withdrawal of salary without attending office for around two years.

As claimed by an RTI activist, the minister’s daughter-in-law Lipsa Pradhan, who works at Kamakhyanagar College in Dhenkanal district as Zoology lecturer, has received salary regularly despite being on leave from 2016 to 2018.

The activist further claimed that Pradhan was pursuing her PhD at Utkal University in Bhubaneswar during the said period.

An RTI query from the varsity revealed that no such student has enrolled in the doctoral programme, he further claimed.

On the contrary, the minister rubbished the allegations terming it as “baseless”.

“My daughter-in-law has conducted classes at the college regularly and also evaluated examination answer sheets. The records of her evaluating the sheets can not be falsified. The allegations are concocted and baseless,” the minister said.
