Odisha ready with 3rd COVID-19 Hospital

Rourkela:  After opening two COVID-19 hospitals, country’s first standalone healthcare facilities for the virus,  in a record time of one week, the Odisha Government is now ready with one more such hospital to treat the affected patients.

Today, the third COVID-19 hospital in the state built by Hi-Tech Medical College and Hospital (HTMCH) in Rourkela was inaugurated by Sundergarh Collector Nikhil Pawan Kalyan. The  existing building of HTMCH is being used for the COVID-19 hospital that has 200 beds and 10 ICU beds. Doctors, paramedics of Rourkela Government Hospital (RGH) and HTMCH will attend the patients.

Earlier yesterday, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated two COVID-19 hospitals at KIIMS in Bhubaneswar and Ashwini Hospital in Cuttack through video conferencing. While the facility at KIIMS has a capacity of 500, Ashwini Hospital has 125 beds. Patnaik interacted with doctors & paramedics and appreciated their role in combating the deadly virus.

All the three hospitals are now ready to provide dedicated healthcare services to COVID-19 patients. It is pertinent to mention here that the state Government had earlier announced free treatment, food and stay for patients at the hospitals.
