One dead, 4 hurt in road mishap in Odisha’s Dhenkanal   

Dhenkanal: A person was killed while four others suffered grievous injuries in a road mishap on National Highway-55 near Baladiabandha in Dhenkanal district today.

The deceased has been identified as Bharat Behera of Nadiali village in the district.

Sources said a road grader was engaged near Baladiabandha area in expansion work of the NH from Mundali in Cuttack to Sambalpur. When Bharat was driving a scooter with two pillions, the road grader collided with the two-wheeler. Soon after, the machine hit a bike, on which two persons were travelling.

While Bharat died on the spot, the four injured were first rushed to the district headquarters hospital (DHH) here and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. After the mishap, driver of the road grader fled the spot.

On receiving information, Sadar police reached the spot and began an inquiry into the incident.
