Two web journalists held for blackmailing headmaster in Odisha

Nuapada: Sinapali police arrested two web journalists on charges of threatening a school headmaster here in the district.

The accused persons were identified as Satish Joshi (52) and Shambhu Saraf (26), the two web journalists.

According to reports, some journalists working with a news portal had visited Jagannath High School at Kendumunda on July 8. They had clicked some videos and started blackmailing the headmaster Budu Meher. They abused him and demanded ransom.

Not giving in to their threat, the headmaster made a written complaint with the Sinapali police on July 23.

Based on the complaint, the police arrested two journalists. However, four others are still at large.

A case has been lodged against the journalists involved in blackmailing the headmaster and investigation is underway, informed Sinapali Police Station IIC Jyoti Ranjan Goud.
