Use Twitter for good governance: Collector in Odisha asks Tehsildars

Jagatsinghpur: Collector Sangram Keshari Mohapatro reprimanded five Tehsildars in the district over inactive of the respective official Twitter handles and instructed them to update the same regularly as it will help address people’s grievances and bring good governance.

In a letter to Tehsildars of Kujang, Biridi, Balikuda, Jagatsinghpur and Naugaon, the Collector said, “As lockdown is continuing,  Twitter provides an opportunity to the people to put forth their grievance. Remaining active on the micro-blogging site will certainly bring good governance in your Tehsil.”

He further asked the five Tehsildars to update people with surveillance activities, social distancing, collection of fines for not wearing masks and disposal of various revenue cases through the respective official Twitter handles.

Mohapatro further instructed the officials to get engaged in queries and grievances raised by people through the micro-blogging site and address the same in shortest possible time.
