Widow raped in Odisha’s Bargarh; police begin probe    

Bargarh:  In yet another shameful incident, a widow was allegedly raped by a youth when she was sleeping in her house at Katapali village under Bargarh Town police limits in the district.

While the incident occurred on December 16, a complaint in this connection was lodged two days after.

As per the complaint, when the woman was in deep sleep on the fateful night, one Chandan Bag of the same village managed to enter the house and later raped her. Moreover, he threatened the woman to kill her if she discloses the matter to anyone.

Later on December 18, a case was registered at Bargarh Town police under Sections 376 and 506 of IPC, said IIC Sadanand Pujahari. While the accused has been absconding after committing the crime, the cops have launched a manhunt to nab him.
