Woman found dead in abandoned well in Odisha’s Sonepur; murder suspected

Sonepur: A 60-year-old woman was found dead in a well at Hilunga village under Birmaharajpur police limits in Odisha’s Sonepur district, today.

The deceased was identified as Sobha Bhoi of the village.

As per reports, she went missing on Friday evening. Though her family members searched for her at various places, but in vain.

This morning, some locals spotted the body floating in the well and informed her kin. Later, police and Fire Services personnel reached the spot and recovered the body from the well.

It is being suspected that the woman was killed and thrown into the well as the body bore cut mark on neck.

Police have started investigation into the matter.
