World Students’ Day 2021: History, Significance and famous Quotes by APJ Abdul Kalam

World Students’ Day is celebrated every year on the birth anniversary of former Indian President APJ Abdul Kalam on October 15.

It is the day celebrated to pay rich tribute to India’s Missile Man Abdul Kalam, who has contributed immensely to the development of education in the country.

History and Significance:

Born on October 15, 1931 in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, Kalam was a distinguished administrator and scientist of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

Late President Abdul Kalam popularly known as people’s President, was a dedicated teacher. He chose to continue teaching immidiately the next day he completed his tenure as the President of India. He was much popular among people especially the youth. He had played a pivotal role in invention and Pokhran II nuclear tests.

It was his dedication towards teaching and his motivational quotes that inspired the students and the UN declared October 15 as World Students’ Day in 2010.
