Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm, lightning very likely in Odisha districts on February 23 & 24

Bhubaneswar: With cyclonic circulation lying over north Chhattisgarh, thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over some districts of Odisha on February 23 and February 24, India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre in Bhubaneswar forecasted today.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD mentioned, “Minimum temperatures observed appreciable rise at one or two places over the districts of North Interior Odisha and no large change at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha. They were markedly above normal at a few places over the districts of Interior Odisha, appreciably above normal at a few places over the districts of Odisha, above normal at a few places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha and normal at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha.”

Temperature forecast: No major change is likely in minimum (night) temperature at many places over the districts of Odisha during next 4 to 5 days.

The highest maximum (day) temperature of 36.4°C was recorded at Bhubaneswar. The lowest minimum (night) temperature of 15.5°C was recorded at Phulbani in the plains of Odisha.

Light rain or thunderstorm are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jajpur, and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

For Thursday (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 23.02.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 24.02.2024)

Light rain or thunderstorm are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Kandhamal, Rayagada, and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be Updated)-

Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj.
