Eight injured in group clash over liquor sale in Odisha’s Cuttack

Cuttack: As many as eight youths were injured in a group clash in Tigiria area of the district over liquor sale today. Latest reports stated that the injured were admitted to the hospital.

Some villagers of Sundhisahi of Panasapatana village were selling country liquor to Holi revellers. In the meantime, some youths from Talagada village reached Sundhisahi and asked the persons selling liquor to refrain from the act. Following this, a heated verbal duel ensued between the two groups.

Later residents of Sundhisahi attacked the youths of Talagada village with wooden planks injuring eight of them.

Till the filing of this report, police complaint was not lodged in connection with the incident.
