Jumping red light in Bhubaneswar will lead to DL suspension; violators to be produced before court

Bhubaneswar: Jumping red light in Odisha capital will lead to suspension of the concerned driver’s DL while the violator will be forwarded to court, said Bhubaneswar Traffic DCP PK Rout.

A special drive has been initiated by the Commissionerate Police in this regard.

Under this initiative, individuals caught jumping any traffic signal within the city will not only face a three-month suspension of their driving license but will also be forwarded to court.

“We are launching this campaign at AG Square, Laxmisagar Square, Jaydev Vihar Square, and Khandagiri Square as part of the initial phase. Our primary focus during this campaign is on those who jump red lights,” said Rout.

“We will impound the vehicle, seize the driver’s license, and forward them to court. Subsequently, we will forward the seized license to the Regional Transport Office (RTO) for a three-month suspension as per the legal provisions,” he added.
