Mayurbhanj Road Mishap: CM announces ex-gratia for kin of 5 deceased

Baripada: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia for next of the kin of the five deceased, who were killed in Mayurbhanj road accident on February 17.

The CM also expressed his deep condolence for bereaved family members of the five deceased.

On February 17,  a musical troupe was returning to Bagabuda village in the tractor after performing at Damanasahi. Near Dhipasahi, the driver lost control, following which the vehicle skidded off the road and overturned into a roadside farmland, around 15 ft below the road.

While one person died on the spot, around 40 others suffered injuries in the road mishap. Later, four others succumbed to injuries.  The deceased included four from Odisha and one from Jharkhand.
