Odisha: Cuttack civic body warns of action against ‘illegal’ Kalyan Mandaps

Cuttack: The Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) has asked the owners of the Kalyan Mandaps in the Silver City here to collect the No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) from the authorities concerned by June 15.

The civic body has warned of stern action against the Kalyan Mandaps operating without the NOCs.

“It has been noticed that several Kalyan Mandaps are operating under the territorial jurisdiction of the CMC without having any valid approval from the authorities concerned. These Mandaps lack the required facilities,” said an official.

The CMC has asked these Kalyan Mandaps to collect the NOCs by June 15 to avoid any punitive action, he added.

The civic authorities have also asked the people to check the NOC of the Kalyan Mandaps before booking them for wedding and other social functions.

“The people should check the NOC of the Kalyan Mandaps before organizing social functions in these facilities. The civic authorities will not be responsible for any inconvenience in this regard after June 15,” said the official.

Notably, several Kalyan Mandaps are operating in the Silver City here without having parking lot, garbage disposal system and other facilities.
