Over 100 fall ill after consuming ice cream in Odisha’s Koraput

Semiliguda: Over 100 people including women and children fell ill after reportedly consuming ice cream here in Koraput district of Odisha.

All the victims have been admitted to two state-run hospitals in the district for treatment.

According to reports, many villagers of Badliguda, Ghatguda and Dudhari under Semiliguda Block had consumed ice cream from a local ice cream hawker on Saturday, following which they all suffered from diarrhoea and vomiting at night.

After health conditions worsened, the family members took them to the hospitals for treatment.

Sources said that around 60 patients were admitted to Sunabeda CHC, more than 45 are undergoing treatment at Mathalput CHC.

The health condition of patients are stated to be stable after primary treatment at hospitals.
