School students set Guinness World Record on the eve of Odia Language Conference

Bhubaneswar: The high school students of Odisha set a world record for uploading the highest number of photos of handwritten notes on Facebook in an hour on the eve of first World Odia Language Conference in the capital city here.

The students of government and non-government aided high schools uploaded the photos of the handwritten notes on the stories and poems penned under ‘Mo Katha Mo Kahani’ initiative in the state.

The students uploaded the photos of the handwritten notes on social media platform Facebook in between 12 noon and 1 pm today.

The students set a Guinness World Record by uploading above 21,000 photos of handwritten notes on Facebook in an hour.

The high school students uploaded the photos of the handwritten notes with the help of their parents, members of the alumni associations and locals, sources said.

It is worth mentioning here that the National Mission for Clean Ganga had secured a place in the Guinness World Record by uploading at least 5,408 photos of handwritten notes on Facebook in an hour on November 1, 2021.

The first World Odia Language Conferences will kick off at Janata Maidan in the capital city here on February 3.

Several eminent linguists and language experts of national and international repute are scheduled to participate in the three-day conference.

The past, present and future of Odia language will be discussed at the convention.
