SHGs in Odisha to get Rs 10 lakh loan with 0% interest under Mission Shakti

Bhubaneswar: Ahead of elections 2024, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced to provide Rs 10 lakh loan to all SHGs under the Mission Shakti programme with a zero percent interest rate.

Inaugurating the Mission Shakti Bazaar in Bhubaneswar today, the CM announced that an interest-free loan up to Rs 10 lakh will be provided to Mission Shakti members of the state.

The Mission Shakti Bazaar will facilitate the marketing of the products manufactured by the SHGs in Odisha.

In addition, the CM also released an amount of Rs 145 Crore towards interest refund.

Speaking at the event, Patnaik said that 5000 Mission Shakti Bazaars will be set up in the state in the next five years. 70 lakh women SHG members will be given Rs 730 Crore and Rs 1.5 lakh to Mission Shakti leaders for the purchase of uniforms and blazers.

This year, the SHGs have received a loan amount of Rs 15,000 Crore. They will be given Rs 75,000 Crore loan in the next five years.

“The state government is always working for the development of the women. Mission Shakti mothers are associated with the making of a New Odisha. These mothers have now become SMEs from SHGs,” Patnaik said adding, “The Mission Shakti women are partners in a transformed Odisha.”

With opening of the Mission Shakti Bazaar, the products manufactured by the Mission Shakti will be available both online and offline. More than 1000 products by Mission Shakti including handicrafts, handlooms, food products, forest products, health and personal care products, traditional jewelries, home and kitchen products will be made available at the Mission Shakti Bazaar.
