SUMUM conducts talks on breast cancer awareness in Berhampur

Berhampur: Amid the ongoing ‘World Breast Cancer Awareness Month’, SUM Ultimate Medicare (SUMUM) on Wednesday organized health talks regarding breast cancer awareness at SBR Govt Women’s College and Govt. Polytechnic here.

Dr. Subhasis Mishra, Radiation Oncologist at SUM Ultimate Medicare, was present at both events as the guest speaker. The events also witnessed the attendance of over 500 female students.

During the awareness talks, Dr. Mishra educated the audience about the symptoms, causes, and various breast cancer treatments.
“In the current times, more and more patients are being diagnosed with breast cancer. It is a very serious disease and the most common cancer in females worldwide. However, if the disease is diagnosed at an early stage, it can be cured completely through effective treatment,” Dr. Mishra said while speaking at the event. He also stressed carrying out self-breast examinations on an individual level to detect any symptoms of the fatal disease at an early stage.

Dr. Mishra also informed that patients suffering from breast cancer can avail advanced treatment for the disease at SUMUM’s all-inclusive HOPE SPRINGS BLOCK of Oncology Sciences, which brings together Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Surgical Oncology, and Nuclear Medicine under one roof.

With state-of-art medical infrastructure and treatment based on standard international protocols, SUMUM offers advanced 360-degree cancer care solutions in an integrated approach to cancer management.

SRB Govt Women’s College head, Dr. Kanhu Charan Padhi, and Govt. Polytechnic’s Principal, Nisakar Mallick, were also present as guests during the events at their respective institutions.
