Youth dies by suicide in Odisha after beloved refuses to elope

Baripada: A pall of gloom descended on Baripada town of Mayurbhanj district today after news broke out that a youth died by suicide when his beloved refused to elope.

The deceased has been identified as Suraj Bindhani aged 22. He was hailing from Shripadaganja in Baripada town.

Friends of Bindhani said he was in love with a young woman from the same town for past few years. The couple had also decided to marry. But family members of Bindhani and the young woman disapproved the couple’s love relationship.

Bindhani pursued his beloved to elope and marry somewhere else. When the young woman rejected the idea, Bindhani felt sorry and decided to end his live, the youth’s friends added.

Bindhani’s body was founding hanging from a tree branch with a rope in nearby forest today.

The police reached the spot and sent the body to PRM Medical College and Hospital for post mortem.

After registering an unnatural death case, the police have launched an investigation.
