2 women killed as scooty and bike collide in Odisha’s Kalahandi

Sources said the duo was going on their scooty when a bike coming from Lingagarh collided with their two-wheeler.

G. Udayagiri: Two women were killed as their scooty collided with a bike in G.Udayagiri area of Kalahandi district in Odisha here today. The deceased were identified as Pradipta Sahu (34) of Nayagarh, a teacher in Lingagarh Girls High School here and Bimla Pradhan (47), a clerk at the same school and a resident of Kupaguda village under Maalikapadi panchayat here.

Sources said the duo was going on their scooty when a bike coming from Lingagarh collided with their two-wheeler. Both the women were critically injured and immediately rushed to the nearest government hospital but they succumbed during treatment. The two youths riding the bike suffered minor injuries.

Police meanwhile reached the spot and took the injured youths for treatment. Both the two-wheelers have been seized and a case registered. Investigation is underway, said G. Udayagiri IIC Ajay Swain.
