314 new COVID-19 cases detected in Bhubaneswar; tally breaches 24,000-mark

Bhubaneswar: As many as 314 new COVID-19 cases were detected in Bhubaneswar city in a single day breaching 24,000-mark, informed Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) today.

Of fresh cases, 230 are local contacts and remaining 84 are quarantine cases in the city.

With 314 new positive cases, the tally stands at 24,228 in Bhubaneswar.

The new cases have been reported from almost all the areas under BMC in the last 24 hours. While 15 more persons have tested positive for COVID-19 in Old Town area, 10 new cases have been reported from Unit-6 locality. Similarly, 12 new cases have been detected in Jharpada area.

Meanwhile, 354 more patients have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours in Bhubaneswar. With this, the number recovered cases increased to 20,571 and the number of active cases slipped to 3531. So far, the virus has claimed 105 lives in the city.
