8 critically injured after SUV collides head-on with truck in Odisha’s Boudh

Boudh: As many as eight persons including women and children sustained grievous injuries as a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) in which they were travelling had a head-on collision with a truck early today morning near Bahira Chhak under Baunsuni police limits in Boudh district.

According to a police source, the truck was on its way to Sonepur when it met with an accident. The SUV coming from the front collided with it leading to the injuries.

On being informed, Baunsuni police and a team of local fire services personnel reached the accident site. They, with the help of some residents, rescued the injured persons and sent them to a nearby hospital in Baunsuni for treatment in critical condition.

Police have seized the two vehicles and launched a probe into the road mishap.

“The accident occurred probably due to poor visibility owing to dense fog in the morning. The drivers of both the vehicles could not see the four-wheelers and collided,” an eyewitness expressed.
