Another daylight heist in Odisha’s Deogarh, young businessman robbed of Rs 60,000

Deogarh: A 27-year-old businessman was robbed of Rs 60,000 today afternoon by some miscreants at a Chhak in Tileibani block headquarters of Deogarh district when he was on his way back home.

The victim youth was identified as Kuna Nayak from Khaparasahi under Deogarh civic limits.

According to a source, Kuna had gone to a nearby marketplace (weekly haat) to supply grocery items to the shopkeepers in the market. After finishing his business work, he was waiting to return when he was attacked by the robbers at around 3.00 pm. About five to six persons came near him and threatened him by brandishing firearms and sharp weapons. They attacked him on his back and hands. They also forcibly snatched away the money from him and fled from the spot soon after committing the crime.

Some locals rescued the injured in critical condition and admitted him to the district headquarters hospital (DHH) in Deogarh for treatment. He is now undergoing treatment in the health facility.

Based on an FIR lodged by the victim, local police have initiated a probe into the incident.

Worth mentioning, another local businessman was robbed of around Rs 17,000 by two unidentified miscreants on October 20 by threatening with firearms and sharp weapons near Chhuriabahal village under Deogarh police limits and no one has allegedly been arrested in this connection yet.
