Bhubaneswar: Medals, valuables looted from former hockey player Prabodh Tirkey’s house

Bhubaneswar: At a time when hockey fever has gripped Odisha capital due to the ongoing Hockey World Cup, medals and valuables were allegedly looted from former international hockey player Prabodh Tirkey’s residence at Unit-VI here on Friday night.

According to reports, the robbery took place when Prabodh and his family members were in Rourkela.

A complaint in this regard has been lodged with the Capital Police while further probe was underway to apprehend the looters.

As per the complaint, gold ornaments, cash, TV set and medals won by him were stolen from the house.

A youth engaged by Prabodh to look after the government quarters had informed him about the incident.
