Bhubaneswar: Youth kills married woman over one-sided love affair

Bhubaneswar: A youth allegedly killed a 20-year-old married woman over his one-sided lover affair with her in Odisha capital.

As per reports, the incident occurred on Tuesday evening when the accused stabbed the woman, identified as Deepika, near her residence at Sishu Bhawan Square.

She was immediately rushed to Capital Hospital here and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. Deepika succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday while undergoing treatment.

Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh said that the perpetrator involved in the incident has been identified, and steps are being taken to apprehend him.

Deepika’s husband, Kunjbihari Dutta, alleged that a young man had developed unrequited love for his wife and attacked her after she did not reciprocate his feelings. Deepika, hailing from Jaleswar, used to assist her husband at his mobile phone repair shop.

Police have registered a murder case into the incident and started investigation.
