BJP National Vice-President Jay Panda tests COVID-19 positive

Bhubaneswar: BJP National Vice-President Baijayant Panda has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently under isolation. Panda took to Twitter and informed this last night.

The saffron party leader also advised everyone who have come in contact with him recently to isolate themselves and get the test done. Panda said he went for the test after developing few symptoms for the deadly virus.

“Because of certain symptoms, I got tested today and have been found COVID positive. I am now in isolation on doctor’s advice,” Panda said in his tweet.

“Request all those who came in contact with me in the last few days to take the necessary precautions and isolate or get tested,” he tweeted.

Earlier, several MLAs including Susant Rout (Bhubaneswar-north), Ananta Narayan Jena (Bhubaneswar-central), Bikram Panda (Berhampur), Byomakesh Ray (Chandbali), Soumya Ranjan Patnaik (Khandapada) had tested positive for COVID-19.

Besides, School and Mass Education Minister Samir Dash, Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain, Women and Child Development (WCD) Minister Tukuni Sahu, Tourism Minister Jyoti Prakash Panigrahi, Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts Minister Padmini Dian, Higher Education Minister Arun Sahoo and Labour Minister Susanta Singh had also contracted the virus.
