Body of minor boy found hanging in Odisha correctional home

Bhawanipatna: In a shocking incident, body of a minor boy was found hanging in the toilet of a government-run correctional home in Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi district of Odisha here on Sunday night.

Though the exact reason behind the death is yet to be ascertained, preliminary investigation revealed that the minor boy was a native of Nabarangpur. He was staying in the institution run by the Department of Women and Child Development and Mission Shakti since August 12 after being convicted in a rape case.

Police on getting information reached the spot and  started investigation. The body has been sent for postmortem and the exact cause of death will be established after the report arrives. A case of un-natural death has been registered and probe is underway. Further details are awaited.
