CM to inaugurate Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bus Terminal in Odisha capital on March 1

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will inaugurate Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bus Terminal at Baramunda in Odisha capital here on March 1 (tomorrow).

The Chief Minister will inaugurate the bus terminal at 5.45 pm on Friday, sources said.

The Chief Minister had earlier announced that the interstate bus terminal at Baramunda would be named after BR Ambedkar, the father of Indian Constitution.

The state government had revealed that it would build a special gallery at the bus terminal to make people aware of the contribution of Ambedkar to the country. The life and deeds of Ambedkar would be depicted at the gallery, it added.

The state government has also announced to set up a police outpost at the bus terminal. As many as 89 police personnel, including two Sub-Inspectors and nine ASI, will be deployed at the outpost for the safety and security of the passengers.

The bus terminal, built over around 15 acres of land, can handle 30,000 passengers and 700-800 buses on daily basis.
