Day temperature to rise in Odisha districts during next two days; no large change thereafter

Bhubaneswar: With no significant synoptic system lying over the region, maximum (day) temperature is to slightly rise by around 20C in several districts of Odisha during the next 48 hours, India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre forecasted today.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD centre said, “Minimum temperatures observed appreciable fall at one or two places over the districts of North Interior Odisha, appreciable rise at a few places over the districts of South Interior Odisha, at one or two places over the districts of North Interior Odisha, & no large change at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha. They were appreciably above normal at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha, above normal at a few places over the districts of Odisha, below normal at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha and normal at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha.”

Temperature forecast: A slight rise in maximum (day) temperature by 20C during next two days and no large change thereafter. Similarly, no large change in minimum temperature is likely at many places over the districts of Odisha during next four to five days.

The highest maximum temperature of 37.4°C was recorded at Paralakhemundi and the lowest minimum temperature of 14.0°C was recorded at Phulbani in the plains of Odisha.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Bargarh, Sambalpur and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

For Sunday (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 03.03.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 04.03.2024)

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Mayurbhanj, Balasore and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.
