Dense fog, rain very likely in Odisha districts during next 3 days; IMD issues Yellow Warning

Bhubaneswar: Due to a cyclonic circulation lying over South Chhattisgarh and its neighbourhood at 0.9 Km above mean sea level, dense fog with light rain and thundershower are very likely to occur at one or two places over several districts of Odisha during the next 72 hours, India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre in Bhubaneswar forecasted today.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD said, “Minimum temperatures observed marked fall at one or two places over the districts of North Interior Odisha, appreciable fall at a few places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of North Interior Odisha and no large change at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha. They were appreciably below normal at one or two places, below normal at one or two places, markedly above normal at a few places, appreciably above normal at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha, above normal at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha and normal at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha.”

Temperature forecast: No large change is likely in Minimum (night) temperature at many places over the districts of Odisha during next 4 to 5 days.

The highest maximum temperature of 30.8°C was recorded at Paralakhemundi and the lowest minimum temperature of 10.6°C was recorded at Jharsuguda in the plains of Odisha.

For Monday (Valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 23.01.2024)

Light to moderate rain\thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Subarnapur, Boudh and at one or two places over the districts of South Odisha, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Angul, Sambalpur, Bargarh and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of North Interior Odisha and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning: Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Dhenkanal, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and Sambalpur.

For Tuesday (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 23.01.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 24.01.2024)

Light to moderate rain\thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of South Odisha, North Coastal Odisha and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha.

Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning: Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack and Jagatsinghpur.
