Dense fog very likely in these Odisha districts till January 23; IMD issues Yellow Warning

Bhubaneswar: With no significant synoptic system lying over the region, dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over several districts of Odisha during the next three days, India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre in Bhubaneswar forecasted today.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD said, “Minimum temperatures observed appreciable fall at one or two places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha, appreciable rise at one or two places over the districts of South Interior Odisha and no large change at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha. They were markedly above normal at many places over the districts of Interior Odisha, appreciably below normal at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha, appreciably above normal at one or two places over the districts of Odisha, above normal at many places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha and normal at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha.”

Temperature forecast: No large change likely in Minimum (night) temperature at many places over the districts of Odisha during next 4 to 5 days.

The highest maximum (day) temperature of 31.8°C was recorded at Nabarangpur and Boudh. The lowest minimum (night) temperature of 13.0°C was recorded at Nuapada in the plains of Odisha.

For Saturday (Valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 21.01.2024)

Light rain and/or thundershower is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Coastal Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha.

Yellow Warning: Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Bolangir, Subarnapur and Boudh.

For Sunday (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 21.01.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 22.01.2024)

Light rain and\or thundershower is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Sundargarh and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of South Coastal Odisha and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning: Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Boudh, Subarnapur, Cuttack, Angul and Bolangir.
