Dialysis centre inaugurated in Barbil; kidney patients in mining-hit area to get benefits

Keonjhar: In order to provide better health services to people residing in and around mining affected areas of Joda and Barbil, the Keonjhar district administration has established a dialysis centre at Community Health Centre (CHC) Barbil.

Champua MLA Minakshi Mahanta inaugurated the dialysis centre in presence of the Barbil Municipality Chairman, Keonjhar District Collector, Champua Sub Collector, CDM and PHO Keonjhar, and other government officials.

The dialysis center will provide facility to the citizens residing in and around Joda/Barbil who were earlier required to travel to either DHH Keonjhar or SCB Cuttack.

Constructed at a cost of Rs 50.75 lakh funded under DMF Keonjhar, the dialysis centre is equipped with a total five dialysis machines installed by the Health and Family Welfare Department. It will provide Haemodialysis services for six days in a week (Sunday closed).

The dialysis centre will be run by the Health and Family Welfare Department on public private partnership mode. It is equipped with advanced technology machines and will be managed by a team of super specialist doctors, experienced staff nurses and trained technicians.

It will ensure better health and wellbeing of the people suffering from chronic and acute kidney diseases.
