Dileswar Rana to get Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar 2023 in Odia

Bhubaneswar: Dileswar Rana has been selected for the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar 2023 in Odia language, the Sahitya Akademi said in a release.

Rana has won the award for ‘Senrra’ (short stories). ‘Senrra’ is the first book of 29-year-old Rana, who hails from Dhanramal village under Narla block of Kalahandi district and works a primary school teacher at Kutenpadar under Bhawanipatna block.

The book was selected on the basis of recommendation made by the jury comprising three members in accordance with the rules and procedure laid down for the purpose. Bibhuti Pattnaik, Gobinda Chandra Chand and Dash Benhur were the members of the jury.

The award relates to book published by an author of the age of 35 or below as on 1st January of the year of the award, the release said.

The award in the form of a casket containing an engraved copper plaque and a cheque of Rs 50,000 will be presented to the awardee at a special function to be held at a later date, the release added.
