Bhubaneswar: Disability rights activist and CEO of Swabhiman NGO, Sruti Mohapatra was allegedly humiliated by a private airline employee and CISF personnel today.
In a social media post, Mohapatra stated she was given an aisle seat in a flight of IndiGo at the Hyderabad airport. When she objected, no one listened to her concerns. Even she was humiliated, the tweet mentioned.
While tagging the CISF in the tweet, Mohapatra also requested the industrial security force to take reform steps to ensure safety and dignity of disable flyers.

Responding to the allegations of Mohapatra, the private airline tweeted, “Ma’am, we are concerned to take note of your experience with us. We would like to speak with you. We request you to confirm your PNR along with your contact number so we can reach out to you on priority.”
On March 8, 2022, President Ram Nath Kovind presented ‘Nari Shakti Puraskar’ to Sruti Mohapatra for empowerment of Divyangjan.
She is known as the ‘Crusader in a Wheelchair’. She has founded NGOs working for upliftment of divyangjan in the State.
