Family feud turns ugly as man attacks wife, parents in Puri; mother dead

Puri: Family feud led to a tragic end after a man attacked his parents, wife and brother leading to the death of his mother in Subhadra Nagar area under Penthakata Marine police limits here today.

However, police have detained accused Bishnu Prasad Dikhit for interrogation.

Sources said a heated argument ensued between Bishnu Prasad and his mother Gulilata over some family issues this morning. The situation turned violent when Bishnu Prasad attacked his mother with a sharp weapon killing her on the spot. Besides, his father, brother and wife were critically injured after being attacked by the accused.

Later, all the injured were rushed to a hospital here for treatment.

Meanwhile, the police have registered a case and begun an investigation into the incident.
