Former Minister Nabin Chandra Narayan Das quits Congress

Dhenkanal: In a jolt to the Odisha unit of Congress ahead of the 2024 polls, former minister Nabin Chandra Narayan Das today resigned from the party.

This apart, Saroj Pattnaik, former district Congress president, also quit the party.

“I resigned from Congress because there is currently no attractive leadership in the party. The Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee President is only thinking about himself, not the party. He didn’t hold any discussion with us regarding improvement of the party,” said Das.

On being asked about his plans for the upcoming elections, Das said he hasn’t taken any decision regarding joining other party.

Notably, Das had served as a minister and held portfolios of Panchayati Raj, Education and Commerce departments. He was also the Chairman of Dhenkanal Municipality.
