Goof-up in Odisha Matric Exam Question; Board terms it ‘printing mistake’

Bhubaneswar: A major goof-up in the question paper of today’s matric examination conducted by the Odisha Board of Secondary Education (BSE) left many students baffled.

The matter came to fore after the examinees pointed out the mistake in the Social Science question paper. As per the students, several questions from Set A question paper were in Set B.

They further said that Question Number 19 was missing from the Objective Question Paper, for which they were able to answer 49 questions on the OMR sheet.

The students have urged the board not to deduct their marks.

On the other hand, the board said the students shouldn’t worry as it was a printing error.

“The board is aware of the matter. It is a printing mistake. The board will take necessary measures in this regard and the students should not worry,” said BSE President Ramashish Hazra.

“Authorities of examination centres have been asked to provide a list of students who faced the issue. The programme for the evaluation of OMR sheets will be changed accordingly. There is no need of conducting the examination again,” Hazra said.
