Heat Wave: 28 places in Odisha record day temperature at 40 Degrees Celsius or above

Bhubaneswar: With mercury on the rise at many places in Odisha, at least twenty-eight places of the State witnessed day temperature at 40 Degrees Celsius or above, today.

Talcher town recorded the highest day (maximum) temperature at 43.2 Degrees Celsius. It was followed by Nuapada (43.0), Boudh, and Paralakhemundi each (42.8), Angul, and Nayagarh each (42.7), Baripada (42.6), Titilagarh (42.5), Bhawanipatna, and Malkangiri each (42.0), Dhenkanal (41.8), Bhubaneswar (41.7), Chandbali, and Jharsuguda each (41.6), Bolangir, and Cuttack each (41.5), Sambalpur, and Hirakud each (41.4), Khordha (41.0), Kendrapara (40.8), Phulbani (40.7), Chhatrapur, and Rourkela each (40.6), Balasore, and Sonepur each (40.4), Keonjhar, and Rayagada each (40.2) and Sundargarh (40.0).

Temperature forecast: Maximum (day) temperature is very likely to rise by 2-3°C during the next two days and no large change thereafter.

Notably, people are to take precautionary measures while going outside during the day hours between 1100 Hrs IST and 1500 Hrs IST, a special bulletin of the IMD regional centre advised.
