Bhubaneswar: Several districts of Odisha are likely to experience heavy rainfall and thunderstorm today, the Regional Meteorological Centre here forecasted.

“Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj,” the Meteorological Centre predicted.

Heavy rainfall likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Koraput and Kandhamal, it added.

On the other hand, rainfall activity is likely to increase in Odisha from October 1 as a cyclonic circulation is likely to emerge into northeast and adjoining eastcentral Bay of Bengal around that date.
