Journalists ought to get pension, access to Lok Seva Bhawan Congress leader Narasingha Mishra in Odisha Assembly

Bhubaneswar: Senior Congress leader and Bolangir MLA Narasingha Mishra batted for the pension of journalists in Odisha as well as their free entry into Lok Seva Bhawan, in the House today during the Winter Session of the Legislative Assembly.

The legislator voiced for the provision of a pass for the journos. Mishra cited that several other states in the country have been providing pensions to journalists. The issue was raised during Zero Hour.

Besides, the Congress Leader advocated for primary school teachers in Western Odisha. The teachers’ outfit has been holding agitation for the last six years over a three-point charter of demands.

The State government previously showed a vindictive attitude and has placed two of the teachers under suspension, which is unfortunate, the senior Congress leader alleged.

Moreover, the Government has not taken any step yet concerning the land grabbing case in Bolangir and there is an apparent scam to a total tune of around Rs 4,000 Crore, thereby incurring huge losses to the government exchequer, Mishra stated on the Floor.

“The prime accused in the land grabbing case is a close associate of the Chief Minister and also a senior BJD leader and vice-president of the party. Probably because of this, the Government is tight-lipped over the sensitive issue,” the Opposition leader said launching a scathing attack.
