Khallikote University to be merged with Berhampur varsity from Oct 1; check details

Berhampur: The Khallikote University will be amalgamated with the Berhampur University with effective from October 1, 2021. As per a notification issued by the Higher Education Department, the Khallikote University will cease to exist after 30.09.2021.

All regular employees of the Khallikote University shall be absorbed in the Berhampur University as regular employees. They will draw salary in the Berhampur University with effect from October 1, 2021.

All movable assets including consumables of Khallikote University shall be handed over to Berhampur University by September 30, 2021, the notification added.

The government land allotted in favour of Khallikote University in Konishi Tahasil shall be surrendered to the District Revenue Authority on as-is-where-is basis.

The Khallikote University shall complete all under-graduate and post graduate scheduled examinations, as well as backlog examinations and publish results thereof latest by September 30, 2021 after which the students on its rolls shall be automatically transferred to the rolls of the Berhampur University. The credits or marks/grades earned by such students under the Khallikote University will be valid in the Berhampur University which will function as the examining and degree awarding university for such students.

After 30.09.2021, students of the Khallikote University working for research degrees shall get transferred to the Berhampur University with pre-doctoral credits; their Registration date and thesis supervisor(s) remaining the same.

After 30.09.2021, all issues related to degrees, certificates, transcripts, grades/marks, credit transfer, etc. of the students of the Khallikote University will be dealt by the Berhampur University.

On amalgamation with the Berhampur University, all funded research projects of the Khallikote University, including research grants and projects funded by the State Government, will be transferred to the Berhampur University along with equipments and project scholars. Principal Investigators of such research projects will obtain permission from the respective funding agency for such transfer.

No fresh admission of students shall be made by the Khallikote University after issue of this notification. No fresh admission of students shall even be made by the Berhampur University this academic year in the subjects/courses currently being offered by the Khallikote University. The Berhampur University shall make a detailed study of the need for continuance of the existing subjects/courses of the Khallikote University and may, thereafter, take a suitable decision for the next academic year and onwards.

The Registrar of Khallikote University shall hand over all official files/records/documents to the Registrar of the Berhampur University who shall keep them under its safe custody for future reference, the notification read.
