Kidnapped six-year-old girl found in Odisha’s Sundargarh

Sundargarh: A six-year-old girl, who was allegedly kidnapped in Deogarh town yesterday, was found in Badagaon area of Sundargarh district, today.

As per reports, a woman spotted the child crying near a bridge at around 4 am and rescued her. The woman then informed the local police about the incident. Later, kin of the child headed towards Sundargarh to bring her home.

Police have started investigation into the matter. It is being suspected that the kidnappers abandoned the child near the bridge after abducting her.

Efforts were on by cops to identify, trace and nab the abductors.

Last evening, two motorcycle-borne miscreants allegedly abducted the child while she was returning home from tuition classes with her grandmother.

The family members of the girl had lodged a complaint in this regard with the Deogarh police.

The reason behind the kidnapping was yet to be ascertained.
