Minister orders Rayagada CDMO to send team of specialised doctors to Kashipur

Bhubaneswar: After media went abuzz with death of six persons in tribal dominated Kashipur block due to suspected diarrhoea, Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) Minister Naba Das today ordered Rayagada Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) to immediately address the issue.

Minister Das insisted that a team of specialised doctors should be sent to Kashipur block with the purpose to provide immediate treatment to local residents suffering from diarrhoea. Adequate steps should also be taken to keep the disease at bay and a detailed report thereof be submitted to the State government for information within next 72 hours, the minister asked.

It is pertinent to mention here that raising the issue today in Odisha Assembly during Zero Hour, Congress leader Narasingha Mishra sought a statement from Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
