Miscreants loot ornaments worth over Rs 15 lakh from jeweller’s house in Odisha

Keonjhar: Unidentified armed miscreants allegedly looted gold ornaments worth over Rs 15 lakh at gunpoint from the house of a jeweller at Tukuna village under Nandipada police limits in Odisha’s Keonjhar district, late last night.

According to reports, six robbers barged into the house after breaking its window. The wrongdoers then threatened Pabitra Das, the jeweller, his wife and their son with guns and knives.

They looted around 200 grams of gold ornaments and more than 7 kg of silver ornaments before fleeing the place.

The looters reportedly forced the family members to serve them tea. They also consumed sweets kept in the house.

On being informed, police reached the spot this morning and initiated an investigation into the incident.

Efforts were on by the cops to identify and nab the thieves.
