Nor’wester rains bring much-needed respite for denizens of Odisha’s twin cities

Bhubaneswar: Nor’wester rains today lashed the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, bringing the much-needed respite from the hot and humid weather conditions for the residents.

The nor’wester rains accompanied by lightning and gusty winds lashed the twin cities in the evening.

Several areas of the two cities witnessed waterlogging due to the rains.

The capital city recorded the maximum temperature of 38.3 Degree Celsius today. The maximum temperature was 36 Degree C in Cuttack, said the IMD regional centre here.

The IMD, meanwhile, has predicted thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface winds for the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Angul, Boudh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri on June 3 (Monday).

Similarly, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Odisha tomorrow, predicted the IMD.
