Odisha CM to launch Air Health Services tomorrow; Here’s all you need to know

Bhubaneswar: After implementing the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) in all districts of Odisha, the State Government is going to take another major step towards enhancing the healthcare services.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is scheduled to launch the ‘Mukhyamantri Vaayu Swasthya Seva’ (Air Health Services) at the Biju Patnaik International Airport, tomorrow.

Under the new initiative, critical patients requiring better healthcare and treatment will be airlifted to the destined hospitals.

Doctors will also visit remote and inaccessible areas through air ambulance to treat patients.

It will be launched for four districts– Kalahandi, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur and Nuapada– in the first phase.

The services will be different from the existing similar services in the country as top surgeons and specialists will be taken to the doorsteps of the patients residing in remote regions.

As part of the scheme, the operation theatres at the District Headquarters Hospitals (DHHs) will be augmented to conduct major surgeries. The identified patients requiring surgery will be brought to the DHHs and treated.
