Odisha to increase Class-12 seats in Higher Secondary Schools

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has decided to increase the number of seats for Class-12 in Higher Secondary Schools across the state, said School and Mass Education Minister Sudam Marndi today.

The decision has been taken in view of the significant rise in pass percentage in the Matric examinations, the results of which were declared recently.

The increase in the number of seats will come into effect from the upcoming 2023-24 academic year, the minister said.

He emphasized that the decision to raise the number of seats is driven by the need to cater to the growing demand for higher education.

In addition to the seat expansion, the government is also preparing to establish 106 new Higher Secondary Schools throughout the state. This initiative aims to provide enhanced educational opportunities for students, said School and Mass Education Secretary Awasthy S.
