Odisha Weather News: Heat wave, thunderstorm likely in these districts today

Bhubaneswar: Heat wave conditions are likely to prevail in several districts of Odisha today while thunderstorm may occur in some districts, the Regional Meteorological Centre here forecasted.

“Heat wave condition very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Angul, Deogarh, Sonepur and Bolangir,” the Meteorological Centre predicted.

“Light rain/ thunderstorm very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak and dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha,” it added.

The Meteorological Centre advised people to avoid heat exposure and dehydration.

Similarly, farmers have been advised to continue irrigation activities in sugarcane, summer maize, pulses and other crops and vegetables.
