Over 10 persons hurt as passenger bus overturns in Odisha’s Keonjhar

Telkoi: Over 10 persons suffered injuries after a passenger bus turned turtle on NH-49 in Telkoi block of Odisha’s Keonjhar district here today. The incident took place at around 8 am near Kunwar village within Kanjipani police limits.
Sources said the bus, named “Amba” bearing registration number OR 09 M 5885, used to ply from Bama Dulia area of Kankadahada in Dhenkanal district to Keonjhar daily. On Monday morning, the bus was heading towards Keonjhar when a person riding a bicycle suddenly came in front of the vehicle. As the driver suddenly turned the steering wheel to avert a mishap, he lost control and the bus toppled. As per reports, around 50 passengers were inside the bus when the mishap occurred and more than 10 people were hurt. They were immediately taken to the nearest community health centre for treatment.
Police reached the spot. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
